Girls' Soccer Finals: SAJC vs VJC

after a great deal of Saints had their hearts broken yesterday in both Girls' Hockey finals and Boys' Soccer 3rd/4th placing, we finally managed to break some Victorian hearts before sunset today. Mr Ben Soh, i had thought whenever you said that, it wouldn't come true, but your words did come true today.

congratulations, SAJC Soccer Girls!

and to my beloved sister Ulrica Liang, you have another chance next year, so all is not lost, unlike me who doesn't have another chance anymore.

It ends tonight

today marks the end of our soccer journey as we take on Victoria Junior College once again, but this time it's at the National Stadium.

whether we win or lose to VJC, i just wanna thank our fellow Saints who have been supporting us both physically and spiritually. nothing beats seeing your fellow schoolmates cheer for you even when the result is not what they want. after all, they cheer for you, not for a win. and that's the spirit of the Saints which was one of the main reasons why i chose SAJC in 2005.

may God reward our supporters today for their long-suffering support.

A rhapsody indeed

i was wrong. it wasn't the lowest point of my life. it couldn't have been the lowest point. cos it's still going down.

sometimes i wonder why i'm still alive. i fail to see the purpose of my existence. i seem to be always creating trouble for people, worrying my parents, disgracing God, etc. i'm like a liability to the world.

you know, for some old people, they see each new day as a bonus, cos they know they might just go anytime. but for me, each new day is like a plague that i wish to avoid so much.

i just can't seem to pick myself up. i kept trying, but i still can't. i know in my life there are my family, friends and erm eye-candies to be happy about, but they seem to be like the deflections of the galvanometer needle - momentary, and are overpowered by the unhappy things in life. the things that remain etched at the back of my mind haunting me are the entrenched images of a harsh reality. if i look at the bright side of life (like what many people have been encouraging me to), i would only be deceiving myself from reality: life sucks!

is this the kind of a success story that i want to write? i aspire to become an expositor of the Christian faith, but whatever i'm learning in school doesn't seem to point towards that, except maybe General Paper and History to some extent. i guess that's the main reason i lack the motivation to strive, or would you say excuse?

i may be smiling from time to time and behaving normally, but deep inside me inhabits a pathetic creature who wallows in self-pity.

it's really a dilemma to blog. one side of me wants my thoughts and feelings to be made known to others, the other urges me to keep them to myself. i'm not asking for sympathy thru blogging. it's just that i needed a channel to express myself and since no one is available at this time of the day, my blog seems to be the only choice.

perhaps i should change my blog title soon, to something like rhapsodies of Glen's miseries.

SAJC draws with VJC 1-1 at VJC's homeground, 2007

thanks to all supporters for displaying the Saints family spirit
apologies to all supporters for not reciprocating it with a win

it's all about you fellow Saints

i wish i can rhapsodise much more but due to some contraints, i can't at the moment.

Beautiful Breath

The river of Sorrow dams Your being
As bloodless hearts drip with impassivity
Pain pierce screaming beautiful flesh
Indelible, as red swirls down Your countenance
And gather in a mass of gold.
Exonerate its glory,

In the abyss of night.
Scattered is the chime of betrayal
While flesh overrides with pain.
Presence of life meanders down the wells
The ground weeps in accordance
With angels and scarred wings
Comes the tinkling of broken chains
When beautiful breath breathes its last.

Life Concert 2007

i dunno why everytime after such an event i'd sigh at the sad fact tt there'll always be a handful of ppl who rejects the Christian faith or another who doesn't understand the message of the cross, i.e. salvation. well, all i have to say is summarised below in the Bible verse and a short extract frm a book.

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

As Jesus says, "Let the one who seeks not stop seeking until he finds. When he finds, he'll be troubled. When he's troubled, he'll be astonished." Jesus clearly invites us to a process of exploration - not simply a set of beliefs which we either accept or reject. We can hold on to the elements we love about it, and say that for others maybe it's different.
