7 H's

Many people are pursuing the 5 or 6 C's but i am pursuing my 7 H's. i want to be a holy, happy, humble, hardworking, hot and handsome hunk. Haha. But i'm now instead just a hopeless, hirsute and hideous hypocrite. i pray that things will change for the better this year. i doubt God will grant me all my H's, maybe only the first four.

A message for someone

Dear Resident of my Heart, I hope you read this.

I may not be living in your heart now but you still reside in mine. I have given this some thought over the last few days and I've decided to go on waiting. I'm prepared to wait even longer. I may stop waiting halfway and my patience may run out but I don't know when that day will come. We have so much time ahead of us. But don't forget I'm waiting for you. It is Time I'm giving you. Waiting is my gift for you.

i will trust and obey

2 poems on life that I appreciate

Life is a stage
And I'm the actor
People pass me by
With mannequin faces
And ceramic masks

This fake makes it hard
Hard to see the truth
The plastic trees
And cardboard houses
Make up this little world

The fake is overwhelming
Smothering all the real
Soon everything is one big play
Don't get a bad review

Life is a stage
And I'm the actor
Watching people pass by
With mannequin faces
And ceramic masks

- Jack Sally (modified)

Life is a drama, and the world about
Contributes to the glory of its scenes.
Oh, glorious life indeed is that of man!
Each day presents to view some happy scene,
Worthy the highest praise.

Or else perhaps a troubled sea may rage,
Terror may swell the ocean of our way;
Horror may seize upon ourselves and rob
Us momentarily of our brightest ray
Of happiness and pride.

Perchance within a single scene of all
The stages, or the various parts we play,
Some terrible or e'en unholy act
Be done, while impure things we say
Beneath strong passion's power.

Yet in the main each scene throughout the play
Is filled with sunshine and the finest showers;
Each act as but the planting of some grain
To quicken and burst forth with blooming flowers,
And ripest fruits of love.

Fruit born to bless our patient toil and care,
The rich reward to bless the laborer's brow,
To prosper here with all and give us hope
To live, to do, and all our race endow
With blessings that we've been.

Poem publicity

Please allow me to indulge in some publicity for my poems.
If you wish to read the poems I have composed over the years, go to http://www.poetry.com and type my name onto the search box.
I hope you like them!

God, I need some muse for another poem for this year's Valentine's Day.
And I wanna learn song-writing!

Back from NS confinement

Returned from Tekong Island Resort just now. Back to civilisation, the light at the end of the tunnel. But not for long. I surely do not have time to share everything i experienced but a few words would suffice.

It was a very unique experience i must say. i had never lived (or rather, been in close proximity) with anyone 24/7 for 2 weeks, not even with my family, but from 11 Jan to 25 Jan this year, i actually did that with my bunk-mates. Sounds really cool.

There is really so much more to share and it's a huge pity i'm unable to do so here and now. i just have to end it here and say that God has been faithful in seeing me through the 2 weeks. It wasn't that shiong yet, but it wasn't a breeze either.

Okay, every recruit has this identification number of his own, dubbed as his 4D number. And mine is

Missing Thailand

One month has passed. My heart is still in Thailand. It seems like everything i do somewhat reminds me of Thailand.

When i wake up, i miss the extremely cold morning temperature that woke me up in Thailand. i miss brushing teeth in the toilets there, "blowing smoke" in the morning, eating porridge for breakfast, bathing in cold water, doing my Quiet Time in the huts, setting up clinic, etc. etc. etc.

Every night, when i look out of my window, i stare at the nightsky of Singapore. Only on certain nights can i spot stars here, but in Thailand i could easily count a hundred of stars every single night. Although i can easily identify the Orion's Belt here, i miss having to search for it among the many stars in the Thai nightsky. i also see aeroplanes in the distance (flying over Changi) every minute of the night. i wish i could catch the next flight to Chiangrai and never return.

The best days of my teenage life were spent there. In a few days' time, a new chapter of my life begins. On the outside, i'm soon no longer a teen. But on the inside, i'm still a young boy, with much to learn. National Service will turn this boy into a man, i hope.
